About us
The Foundation was initially established in 2015 by Ramesh Vaidyanathan as a non-profit company with the objective of promoting legal education, advancing legal literacy, and advocating public interest issues through appropriate legal fora. Through the years, the Foundation has supported various schools and legal literacy programs.

In January 2025, the Foundation began supporting Project Setu, a legal literacy initiative launched in July 2023. Project Setu leverages technology to provide simplified and accessible legal information to vulnerable communities. The Foundation is committed to strengthening and expanding this initiative as part of its ongoing philanthropic mission.

In early 2025, the Foundation was renamed from Advaya Charitable Foundation to BTG Advaya Charitable Foundation, following the merger of BTG Legal and Advaya Legal - two independent law practices led by the Foundation’s directors, Mr. Ramesh Vaidyanathan and Mr. Prashant Mara, respectively. The new name reflects this integration and a shared commitment to social impact through the law.
